About District 10
Reed is proud to represent Cortland County's Legislative District 10, which encompasses most of the town and village of Homer. It is a district rich with history, culture, and commerce. From the scenic beauty in its agrarian countryside to the bustling businesses on its historic Main Street, District 10 is a "small-town USA" community which is vibrant, proactive, and family-oriented.
District 10 is located within reasonable driving distances of several Upstate New York metropolitan areas, including a short 30 minute distance from the City of Syracuse and 40 minutes from Cornell University. It is surrounded by a number of freshwater lakes, family farms, and tourist attractions. Historically, District 10 was home to the Brockway Motor Truck Company, which provided jobs to hundreds of Homer residents and their families. The long-lasting impact of Brockway Trucks on Homer's development is honored every summer at the Brockway Truck Show, pictured below.
